Archangel Michael is probably the best-known archangel.  He is incredibly powerful and in charge of the other angels; think of him as a line manager in modern terms.  Michael is associated with protection and strength.  Here I will enlighten you about Michael, his role, symbolism, how he helps us, his colour and crystal association.

Who is Archangel Michael

In Hebrew, the name Michael means “who is like God”  Michael is close to God and is incredibly powerful.   Remember, angels are not aligned to any particular religion.  They help all of us if we ask.  Many religions have an awareness of Archangel Michael.  He is often known as the prince of angels and is the leader of all the archangels.  Many of us will be aware of Archangel Michael’s story from Lucifer’s rebellion against God.  However, his story begins when God created him.  Michael is loyal and faithful to the creator.  He is associated with protection and strength.  He protects us from evil and harm.  As a powerful warrior, Archangel Michael led the warriors of God against Satan and his dark forces.  

Warrior of God – Defender of Faith

As you would expect, Archangel Michael is extremely powerful.  Michael is frequently known as a defender of faith, a warrior of God, and appears to some of us as a guardian angel when required.  A warrior for good, Archangel Michael is frequently illustrated with a sword and shield.  You can call on Archangel Michael for protection against demons and evil spirits.  Call on him if you feel your faith waiver.

Archangel Michael Colours

Archangel Michael is associated with the colour blue.  When he visits and shows himself, the bright white light is often tinted with blue.  Sometimes, we see blue or think of blue as he delivers messages to us.  Archangel Michael is also associated with the colour gold as a symbolism of his high standing.  The gold colour is representative of the divine, enlightenment and pureness.  Michael may appear to some with his light surrounded by bright gold and this is frequently as a sign that you are on the right path or to show you which is the right path when you are at a crossroads.

Crystal Association

Archangel Michael is closest to blue crystals that offer protection as you would expect.  Lapis Lazuli and Turquoise will help you gain protection from Archangel Michael.  Lapis Lazuli provides powerful protection from negative metaphysical forces and negative energy.  I use Lapis Lazuli for aura cleansing and creating aura protection.  Turquoise protects travel and helps to keep safe.  Turquoise is an incredibly strong healing crystal that I use in healing, grounding and balancing for clients.
