Crystals 101

Citrine gets its name from the French citron (Lemon).  It is a transparent yellow quartz that in the natural state varies in colour from very pale yellow to a golden yellow.  Sometimes the stone is slightly clouded or has inclusions.  Frequently your stone won’t be all one colour, it may vary from clear to yellow or various shades of yellow and various degrees of transparency. It’s a beautiful stone to have.

Natural Citrine is one of the best there is for those who want to boost manifestation.  It makes a great beginner crystal because it doesn’t hold or accumulate negative energy.  Citrine in the home is a perfect choice for dissipating negativity in the home and in your mind if you carry the stone.

Many call it the money stone or the merchant stone because it is known for bringing wealth and prosperity.  Carrying a small citrine in your purse or wallet is said to attract money and also stop you leaking money.

Other ways that citrine help you is with creativity and imagination, it’s a great option for artists and increasing creativity.  Citrine is also good at slowing and transforming negative thoughts and words into positive ones.

According to Feng Shui placing a citrine crystal in the money corner of your home brings prosperity.

Whilst I do always cleanse all crystals before sending them out to their new guardians, citrine is said to be one that doesn’t need cleansing.

Citrine is a good crystal to give as a gift bringing positivity and good fortune to the recipient.

Citrine is a great option when selling a house especially when you want a quick sale.  Placing a genuine citrine geode in the living space is helpful or placing small citrine crystals in each every room of the property should give the same effect.  They can be as part of a display, casually left in a jewelry dish or even placed out of sight in a cupboard.   It will be helpful to use a mantra like ‘help me to sell this house fast’ as you place each one in the rooms.

Only the Real Deal

Far too many people are selling crystals who don’t know what they are doing.  There are also a lot of sellers passing off heat treated and dyed crystals as something they are not.  Other quartz crystal can be heat treated to look a bit like citrine.  Always check that you are buying the real citrine or it just won’t work for you.  The real crystals no matter how large or small are also much more attractive.
